Competencies
Competencies are the knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes that an individual must possess to achieve successful performance and results in the workplace. Helping employees and volunteers aspire to - and achieve - higher levels of performance and responsibility will always be critical to meeting the challenges faced by prevention practitioners.
Identification of required competencies is the first step in the development of a cohesive professional workforce.
The CPWD is working with Florida's prevention leaders to develop a consensus about competencies required for today's prevention professionals and to establish updated criteria for certification for Certified Addiction Prevention Professionals.
