Workforce Planning
Workforce planning is a continuous process to ensure that the right people with the right skills are in the right place at the right time.
The increased professionalization of Florida's prevention services requires deliberate actions to identify workforce gaps, establish consensus about required competencies, enhance educational preparation, improve professional development and create strategic recruitment, retention and succession planning strategies.
In 2006, CPWD completed the first statewide survey of Florida's prevention workforce. Results of the survey can be found at - View the PDF (1.25 MB).
CPWD has worked in partnership with the Southern Coast ATTC, the Florida Certification Board and the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association to create a comprehensive Workforce Plan for the Addiction Field in Florida.
CPWD is collaborating with the Florida Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Council (FLSAPAC) in developing strategies for implementing a Workforce Plan for prevention.
